Narrative:

At about XA55 local the radar mapper for the MVA map failed. I was working the medford sector with 2 IFR aircraft on vectors for the approach, one at 7000 ft wbound, one at 5000 ft nwbound, both were headed toward higher MVA's. I climbed the 5000 ft traffic to 7000 ft and vectored both aircraft toward the final, where I knew 7000 ft would be safe. After about 7 mins the mapper was returned. Apparently an airport facilities technician caused the failure by poking around in the mapper.
