Narrative:
Ramp agent with 1 week experience loaded aircraft with passenger and baggage. Misread bag sheet totals. Gave crew aft #1 weight as 504 pounds. On takeoff aircraft rotated on its own at vr. On arrival at mhk physical count performed. Aft #1 weight was 881 pounds. Aircraft was loaded 2 index units aft of aft center of gravity limit for takeoff. Arrival center of gravity was 3 index units aft of aft limit. No weight limits exceeded. Documentation of incident filed with station manager, director of operations, and chief pilot. Supplemental information from acn 361452: since our weight and balance computations found us on the aft limits of the envelope I set trim to plus 1 degree. When we reached vr the nose leaped up and rotated through 15 degrees of pitch. I exerted down pressure. It took around 30 pounds.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: WT AND BAL OUT OF LIMITS. AFT CARGO WAS 377 LBS ABOVE RPTED AND CTR OF GRAVITY WAS 2 INDEX UNITS AFT OF CTR OF GRAVITY LIMIT FOR TKOF. ERRONEOUS LOADING RPTING ATTRIBUTED TO NEW RAMP PERSON WHO HAD INADEQUATE TRAINING.
Narrative: RAMP AGENT WITH 1 WK EXPERIENCE LOADED ACFT WITH PAX AND BAGGAGE. MISREAD BAG SHEET TOTALS. GAVE CREW AFT #1 WT AS 504 LBS. ON TKOF ACFT ROTATED ON ITS OWN AT VR. ON ARR AT MHK PHYSICAL COUNT PERFORMED. AFT #1 WT WAS 881 LBS. ACFT WAS LOADED 2 INDEX UNITS AFT OF AFT CTR OF GRAVITY LIMIT FOR TKOF. ARR CTR OF GRAVITY WAS 3 INDEX UNITS AFT OF AFT LIMIT. NO WT LIMITS EXCEEDED. DOCUMENTATION OF INCIDENT FILED WITH STATION MGR, DIRECTOR OF OPS, AND CHIEF PLT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 361452: SINCE OUR WT AND BAL COMPUTATIONS FOUND US ON THE AFT LIMITS OF THE ENVELOPE I SET TRIM TO PLUS 1 DEG. WHEN WE REACHED VR THE NOSE LEAPED UP AND ROTATED THROUGH 15 DEGS OF PITCH. I EXERTED DOWN PRESSURE. IT TOOK AROUND 30 LBS.
