Narrative:
Cleared to 4000 ft. Next controller said we should be at 5000 ft. As we were descending through 4600 ft, climbed back to 5000 ft, after descending to 4400 ft. We had been given a lot of vectors, altitude changes, and speed changes -- probably due to high winds and use of runways 27L/right. It appeared there was a lack of communication between controllers.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A320 THOUGHT THEY WERE CLRED TO DSND TO 4000 FT. ATC CLAIMED THEY WERE ONLY CLRED TO 5000 FT. THEY GOT TO 4400 FT BEFORE CORRECTING. RPTR SUGGESTS THERE MAY HAVE BEEN AN ATC COORD MIXUP.
Narrative: CLRED TO 4000 FT. NEXT CTLR SAID WE SHOULD BE AT 5000 FT. AS WE WERE DSNDING THROUGH 4600 FT, CLBED BACK TO 5000 FT, AFTER DSNDING TO 4400 FT. WE HAD BEEN GIVEN A LOT OF VECTORS, ALT CHANGES, AND SPD CHANGES -- PROBABLY DUE TO HIGH WINDS AND USE OF RWYS 27L/R. IT APPEARED THERE WAS A LACK OF COM BTWN CTLRS.
