Narrative:

Cleared direct to lga and to descend to 4000 ft (from 9000 ft). Descending through approximately 6400 ft, we received a TCASII TA which immediately went to an RA with a climb commanded. We climbed to approximately 7100 ft MSL, and received a TCASII 'clear of conflict.' the traffic passed off our left, indicating 6000 ft. ATC was advised of our RA and clear of conflict. ATC indicated 'there was no conflict and no problems here.' the flight landed at lga with no further incidents.

Narrative: CLRED DIRECT TO LGA AND TO DSND TO 4000 FT (FROM 9000 FT). DSNDING THROUGH APPROX 6400 FT, WE RECEIVED A TCASII TA WHICH IMMEDIATELY WENT TO AN RA WITH A CLB COMMANDED. WE CLBED TO APPROX 7100 FT MSL, AND RECEIVED A TCASII 'CLR OF CONFLICT.' THE TFC PASSED OFF OUR L, INDICATING 6000 FT. ATC WAS ADVISED OF OUR RA AND CLR OF CONFLICT. ATC INDICATED 'THERE WAS NO CONFLICT AND NO PROBS HERE.' THE FLT LANDED AT LGA WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENTS.
