Narrative:
Taxi instructions were, taxi via taxiway V and hold short runway 29L. We were taxiing from FBO to gate in msp. We taxied past the hold short line and onto runway 29L before we noticed we were on the runway. We stopped immediately. Nose of the aircraft was on the runway. Ground control then advised us that we were supposed to hold short. ATC advised us an aircraft was landing and to continue across the runway. The txwys were snow covered and we could not see the hold short line. Runway signs were obstructed with snow. Visibility was low due to blowing snow. We were unable to distinguish between taxiway and runway. We were unfamiliar with the area and WX conditions were major factors in this problem. The ground control should advise the taxiing aircraft of runway and taxiway signs being covered by snow. This warning would alert the crew of a potential hazardous situation.

Title: MDT ACFT TAXIING FROM FBO TO GATE IN BLOWING SNOW INADVERTENTLY ENCROACHED ON RWY. FLC REALIZED IT AND STOPPED, BUT GND CTLR TOLD THEM TO TAXI ACROSS DUE TO LNDG TFC. RPTRS CLAIM TXWY AND RWY MARKINGS WERE OBSTRUCTED BY SNOW.

THIS WARNING WOULD ALERT THE CREW OF A POTENTIAL HAZARDOUS SIT.
