Narrative:

First air carrier Y was cleared to land. Second air carrier X was cleared for takeoff and issued traffic of first air carrier Y on a 3 mi final. An additional aircraft called in which diverted attention. When attention was back at the runway, the departure was approximately 5700 ft down the runway. His gear appeared to be on the ground. Scanning back to the approach end of the runway, the arriving air carrier Y was over the approach end a few seconds later. The situation was debriefed with the developmental after the session.

Title: A B737 WAS SLOW DEPARTING RESULTING IN AN ARRIVING B737 XING THE RWY NUMBERS WHILE THE DEPARTING ACR WAS STILL ROLLING DOWN THE RWY. TRAINING WAS IN PROGRESS.

Narrative: FIRST ACR Y WAS CLRED TO LAND. SECOND ACR X WAS CLRED FOR TKOF AND ISSUED TFC OF FIRST ACR Y ON A 3 MI FINAL. AN ADDITIONAL ACFT CALLED IN WHICH DIVERTED ATTN. WHEN ATTN WAS BACK AT THE RWY, THE DEP WAS APPROX 5700 FT DOWN THE RWY. HIS GEAR APPEARED TO BE ON THE GND. SCANNING BACK TO THE APCH END OF THE RWY, THE ARRIVING ACR Y WAS OVER THE APCH END A FEW SECONDS LATER. THE SIT WAS DEBRIEFED WITH THE DEVELOPMENTAL AFTER THE SESSION.
