Narrative:
Short runway 21C. During taxi out from dtw, #3 engine showed low RPM and high egt. After manipulating the throttle, engine indications appeared normal prior to and during takeoff. The logbook write-up did not include the previous sentence, which if included, would have answered several questions from maintenance and FAA. Supplemental information from acn 364039: takeoff and remainder of flight uneventful. We wrote engine #3 up at ord where maintenance, accompanied by FAA inspector, ran #3 engine and found no problems.
