Narrative:
Runway 13/31 at ny's la guardia airport has a significant 'bump' in it at about the middle of the 7000 ft runway. When taking off or landing, the aircraft shudders when the nosewheel hits the bump. The problem is most pronounced when the aircraft is relatively light. The problem has existed for a long time without resolution from lga operations/port authority/authorized. The problem seems, to me, to be getting worse. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states that he flies in and out of lga several times a day on the east coast shuttle operation. His company did speak with the port authority/authorized about a yr ago without much result. He is becoming quite concerned since the problem seems to be worsening and could well cause aircraft damage. The FAA hot line was suggested in addition to his report.

Title: RPT REGARDING RWY CONDITION AT LGA WITH BUMP ABOUT CTR OF RWY LENGTH. THIS CAUSES A SHUDDER ON LNDG ROLL WHEN ENCOUNTERING THE BUMP. IT IS GETTING WORSE.
Narrative: RWY 13/31 AT NY'S LA GUARDIA ARPT HAS A SIGNIFICANT 'BUMP' IN IT AT ABOUT THE MIDDLE OF THE 7000 FT RWY. WHEN TAKING OFF OR LNDG, THE ACFT SHUDDERS WHEN THE NOSEWHEEL HITS THE BUMP. THE PROB IS MOST PRONOUNCED WHEN THE ACFT IS RELATIVELY LIGHT. THE PROB HAS EXISTED FOR A LONG TIME WITHOUT RESOLUTION FROM LGA OPS/PORT AUTH. THE PROB SEEMS, TO ME, TO BE GETTING WORSE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THAT HE FLIES IN AND OUT OF LGA SEVERAL TIMES A DAY ON THE E COAST SHUTTLE OP. HIS COMPANY DID SPEAK WITH THE PORT AUTH ABOUT A YR AGO WITHOUT MUCH RESULT. HE IS BECOMING QUITE CONCERNED SINCE THE PROB SEEMS TO BE WORSENING AND COULD WELL CAUSE ACFT DAMAGE. THE FAA HOT LINE WAS SUGGESTED IN ADDITION TO HIS RPT.
