Narrative:

We were cleared to proceed direct to the airport and descend to 9000 ft. During descent traffic was pointed out for us to look for. I was looking for the traffic and the captain was talking to ATC on another radio (clearance delivery). Neither one of us noticed as the airplane descended through the assigned altitude and we were given a frequency change. At that point we noticed we were 700 ft below the assigned altitude. We made contact with approach and we were immediately cleared for a visual approach and landed normally. Obviously we should not have let ourselves get distraction by other activities to the point we lost track of our altitude. Supplemental information from acn 364998: I think this happened due to distraction of the flight crew. At the time, we were both looking for reported traffic 4000 ft below our position, and I was talking with ATC about flow times back to phx.

Title: BE02 FLC DSNDS THROUGH ASSIGNED ALT OF 9000 FT DURING APCH AT YUM. PIC WAS TALKING WITH DEP CTLR REGARDING FLOW TIMES OUT OF YUM AND FO WAS LOOKING FOR RPTED TFC. ALT CALLOUT PROC NOT MENTIONED NOR ALT ALERTER, OR NOT ON BOARD.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED TO PROCEED DIRECT TO THE ARPT AND DSND TO 9000 FT. DURING DSCNT TFC WAS POINTED OUT FOR US TO LOOK FOR. I WAS LOOKING FOR THE TFC AND THE CAPT WAS TALKING TO ATC ON ANOTHER RADIO (CLRNC DELIVERY). NEITHER ONE OF US NOTICED AS THE AIRPLANE DSNDED THROUGH THE ASSIGNED ALT AND WE WERE GIVEN A FREQ CHANGE. AT THAT POINT WE NOTICED WE WERE 700 FT BELOW THE ASSIGNED ALT. WE MADE CONTACT WITH APCH AND WE WERE IMMEDIATELY CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH AND LANDED NORMALLY. OBVIOUSLY WE SHOULD NOT HAVE LET OURSELVES GET DISTR BY OTHER ACTIVITIES TO THE POINT WE LOST TRACK OF OUR ALT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 364998: I THINK THIS HAPPENED DUE TO DISTR OF THE FLC. AT THE TIME, WE WERE BOTH LOOKING FOR RPTED TFC 4000 FT BELOW OUR POS, AND I WAS TALKING WITH ATC ABOUT FLOW TIMES BACK TO PHX.
