Narrative:
I was doing touch-and-goes at the local airport in a PA28-181. Winds were 330 degrees at 10 KTS gusting to 18 KTS, runway 29. The first touch-and-go was fine. The second one I approached at 75 KTS instead of 65 KTS to help with crosswind. I touched down nice and light, but the plane became airborne without me changing the controls. I tried to get the plane to settle back on the runway but it began to porpoise. After the third porpoise, I did a go around. The plane never hit the ground hard at all, so other than being angry, because of a botched landing, I didn't think much about damage to the propeller. I did 3 more touch-and-goes then called it a day. I got a call later in the evening from the airport telling me I damaged the propeller. I feel that the gusty wind and the extra speed of the airplane caused it to lift back off the runway and instead of doing a go around right away and trying to make it settle back on the runway caused it to porpoise.

Title: PVT PLT OF A PIPER PA28 PORPOISED DURING A LNDG ATTEMPT AND UNKNOWINGLY STRUCK THE PROP BEFORE ABORTING THE LNDG AND GOING AROUND.
Narrative: I WAS DOING TOUCH-AND-GOES AT THE LCL ARPT IN A PA28-181. WINDS WERE 330 DEGS AT 10 KTS GUSTING TO 18 KTS, RWY 29. THE FIRST TOUCH-AND-GO WAS FINE. THE SECOND ONE I APCHED AT 75 KTS INSTEAD OF 65 KTS TO HELP WITH XWIND. I TOUCHED DOWN NICE AND LIGHT, BUT THE PLANE BECAME AIRBORNE WITHOUT ME CHANGING THE CTLS. I TRIED TO GET THE PLANE TO SETTLE BACK ON THE RWY BUT IT BEGAN TO PORPOISE. AFTER THE THIRD PORPOISE, I DID A GAR. THE PLANE NEVER HIT THE GND HARD AT ALL, SO OTHER THAN BEING ANGRY, BECAUSE OF A BOTCHED LNDG, I DIDN'T THINK MUCH ABOUT DAMAGE TO THE PROP. I DID 3 MORE TOUCH-AND-GOES THEN CALLED IT A DAY. I GOT A CALL LATER IN THE EVENING FROM THE ARPT TELLING ME I DAMAGED THE PROP. I FEEL THAT THE GUSTY WIND AND THE EXTRA SPD OF THE AIRPLANE CAUSED IT TO LIFT BACK OFF THE RWY AND INSTEAD OF DOING A GAR RIGHT AWAY AND TRYING TO MAKE IT SETTLE BACK ON THE RWY CAUSED IT TO PORPOISE.
