Narrative:
When patrick approach is closed ZMA assumes the airspace. With the placement of the 'brand new' radar site departures wbound or arrs to runway 9 are non radar below 5000 ft. Arrs must be vectored 15 mi west or kept above GS altitudes to be vectored closer in IFR conditions. In an emergency this could prove disastrous.
