Narrative:

While taxiing from a remote runup/tiedown area on the airport, the nosewheel entered a hole (possibly gopher or turtle) located at the edge of the paved taxiway. The nose lowered and the propeller struck the pavement and the nosewheel fairing was damaged. It was at night and even though we made an inspection of this area before taxiing and determine that it was in good condition, the hole went undetected. A more thorough examination of the area may have prevented this incident.
