Narrative:

PF (first officer) flew wrong SID for about 1 min. Controller asked our destination (smf) and we both realized we should be flying different SID. No conflicts with other traffic occurred. I made a wrong assumption that first officer knew the correct SID we should have been on. I even asked him and didn't question his answer.

Title: MD80 ACFT DEPARTING ON SID STARTED FLYING THE WRONG ONE UNTIL THE DEP CTLR INTERVENED AND QUESTIONED WHERE THEY WERE GOING. RPTR CAPT SAYS HE ASSUMED THAT THE FO KNEW THE CORRECT SID AND WHEN ASKING THE FO, PRIOR TO DEP, HE STILL DIDN'T CATCH THAT THE FO WAS PLANNING THE WRONG SID.
