Narrative:
Our aircraft (737-300) was holding in position on runway 8R (ont) awaiting takeoff clearance. Ont tower cleared a heavy B767 to cross runway 8R from the south ramp at taxiway left and hold short of runway 8L. As the B767 cleared runway 8R we were then cleared for takeoff on runway 8R. As we initiated the takeoff roll, the heavy was instructed to cross runway 8L. We were at V1-vr when we rolled through the intersection of runway 8R and taxiway left. At that time we were blasted by exhaust from the heavy as he spooled up. Aircraft was in the initial stages of rotation and experienced a very pronounced and sharp left and right yawing motion. Takeoff was continued without further incident. Flight crew and cabin crew was a bit startled by this experience. However, I later learned that only 1 passenger had shown any distress over the occurrence.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: B767 WAS CLRED TO TAXI ACROSS RWY 8R, HOLD SHORT RWY 8L. B737-300 CLRED FOR TKOF RWY 8R. TWR THEN CLRED B767 TO CROSS RWY 8L. B737-300 ENCOUNTERED STRONG JET BLAST AT ROTATION RESULTING IN L AND R YAWING. FLC ABLE TO REGAIN CTL AND CONTINUE TKOF. 1 PAX UPSET.
Narrative: OUR ACFT (737-300) WAS HOLDING IN POS ON RWY 8R (ONT) AWAITING TKOF CLRNC. ONT TWR CLRED A HVY B767 TO CROSS RWY 8R FROM THE S RAMP AT TXWY L AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 8L. AS THE B767 CLRED RWY 8R WE WERE THEN CLRED FOR TKOF ON RWY 8R. AS WE INITIATED THE TKOF ROLL, THE HVY WAS INSTRUCTED TO CROSS RWY 8L. WE WERE AT V1-VR WHEN WE ROLLED THROUGH THE INTXN OF RWY 8R AND TXWY L. AT THAT TIME WE WERE BLASTED BY EXHAUST FROM THE HVY AS HE SPOOLED UP. ACFT WAS IN THE INITIAL STAGES OF ROTATION AND EXPERIENCED A VERY PRONOUNCED AND SHARP L AND R YAWING MOTION. TKOF WAS CONTINUED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. FLC AND CABIN CREW WAS A BIT STARTLED BY THIS EXPERIENCE. HOWEVER, I LATER LEARNED THAT ONLY 1 PAX HAD SHOWN ANY DISTRESS OVER THE OCCURRENCE.
