Narrative:
Used taxiway A1 (noted on commercial chart as maximum gross weight 100000 pounds) with our aircraft weighing approximately 120000 pounds. Normal taxi route of taxiway a to A2 was blocked at taxiway A2 with an aircraft which had pushed back off a gate. I missed the restr. However, according to ground control (ATC) the ramp and taxiway (A1) are, in fact, stressed for heavy aircraft. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states there has been a great deal of construction at the airport and taxiway A1 is not stressed for heavier aircraft. Apparently the commercial chart has not been updated. This is a very short taxiway leading directly to the terminal. His company chart does not reflect the new taxiway identify so he was caught from 2 sources.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: MLG FLC BELIEVE THEY HAVE TAXIED ONTO TWXY NOT STRESSED FOR THEIR WT. GND CTLR INDICATES IT IS NOW STRESSED FOR THEIR WT. CHART NOT UPDATED.
Narrative: USED TXWY A1 (NOTED ON COMMERCIAL CHART AS MAX GROSS WT 100000 LBS) WITH OUR ACFT WEIGHING APPROX 120000 LBS. NORMAL TAXI RTE OF TXWY A TO A2 WAS BLOCKED AT TXWY A2 WITH AN ACFT WHICH HAD PUSHED BACK OFF A GATE. I MISSED THE RESTR. HOWEVER, ACCORDING TO GND CTL (ATC) THE RAMP AND TXWY (A1) ARE, IN FACT, STRESSED FOR HVY ACFT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THERE HAS BEEN A GREAT DEAL OF CONSTRUCTION AT THE ARPT AND TXWY A1 IS NOT STRESSED FOR HEAVIER ACFT. APPARENTLY THE COMMERCIAL CHART HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED. THIS IS A VERY SHORT TXWY LEADING DIRECTLY TO THE TERMINAL. HIS COMPANY CHART DOES NOT REFLECT THE NEW TXWY IDENT SO HE WAS CAUGHT FROM 2 SOURCES.
