Narrative:
I am a CFI in cincinnati, oh. My student had an accident on may/tue/97. It was his second solo and he struck the propeller on a hard landing. The time was XA00 pm. No one was injured in the accident, only the propeller was damaged. The aircraft is a 1997 DA20 katana (experimental). It happened at (XA15Z) blue ash field in cincinnati, which is where the aircraft is based. I believe the student bounced on landing and then panicked and shoved the stick forward to recover. This is something I have warned him not to do. I take full responsibility for this accident, but I stand behind my decision to sign him off for solo flight. He is an excellent pilot. He just made a bad mistake, which both he and I have learned from.
