ATC facility: ord departure. Location: 20 mi east pll. Leveloff 13000 ft, and we hit some turbulence, hard rain. Leveled off at 13300 ft. Descended back to 13000 ft with no complaint from ATC. Supplemental information from acn 369911: we were distraction by the radar screen while observing thunderstorms and climbed to 13300 ft.
