Narrative:
Approaching mia at about AB00 local, starting to get very tired. So picked up mia ATIS, wrote 'lahso' on bottom of landing data card to announce fact that land and hold short operations were in effect. So did not bring this up verbally. For whatever reason, I did not notice this notation on the card. Mia has lahso operations going on almost continuously. So did not write down or mention that ATIS said to advise if unable to hold short. On short final for runway 9R, tower instructed us to hold short of runway 12. Our charts say we can do this. However, due to first officer flying, first officer level of experience in the airplane, and my by now tired condition, I told controller we could not hold short. Controller asked crew landing on intersecting runway if they could hold short of our runway, they said yes. On taxi in, controller quizzed us if we had heard a lahso advisory on the ATIS. I said that the first we had heard of it was on short final. This was technically incorrect. So had noted it on card but had not mentioned it verbally, and I missed seeing it on the card.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLC FAILED TO COMPLY WITH LAND AND HOLD SHORT INSTRUCTION WHICH WAS RECEIVED THROUGH ATIS AND REQUESTED BY CTLR DURING APCH. CTLR ASKED THE QUESTION ON A SHORT FINAL AND MADE ADJUSTMENTS TO LNDG TFC.
Narrative: APCHING MIA AT ABOUT AB00 LCL, STARTING TO GET VERY TIRED. SO PICKED UP MIA ATIS, WROTE 'LAHSO' ON BOTTOM OF LNDG DATA CARD TO ANNOUNCE FACT THAT LAND AND HOLD SHORT OPS WERE IN EFFECT. SO DID NOT BRING THIS UP VERBALLY. FOR WHATEVER REASON, I DID NOT NOTICE THIS NOTATION ON THE CARD. MIA HAS LAHSO OPS GOING ON ALMOST CONTINUOUSLY. SO DID NOT WRITE DOWN OR MENTION THAT ATIS SAID TO ADVISE IF UNABLE TO HOLD SHORT. ON SHORT FINAL FOR RWY 9R, TWR INSTRUCTED US TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 12. OUR CHARTS SAY WE CAN DO THIS. HOWEVER, DUE TO FO FLYING, FO LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE IN THE AIRPLANE, AND MY BY NOW TIRED CONDITION, I TOLD CTLR WE COULD NOT HOLD SHORT. CTLR ASKED CREW LNDG ON INTERSECTING RWY IF THEY COULD HOLD SHORT OF OUR RWY, THEY SAID YES. ON TAXI IN, CTLR QUIZZED US IF WE HAD HEARD A LAHSO ADVISORY ON THE ATIS. I SAID THAT THE FIRST WE HAD HEARD OF IT WAS ON SHORT FINAL. THIS WAS TECHNICALLY INCORRECT. SO HAD NOTED IT ON CARD BUT HAD NOT MENTIONED IT VERBALLY, AND I MISSED SEEING IT ON THE CARD.
