Narrative:
Just leveling at FL370 IMC continuous light to moderate chop. No cells or precipitation on radar. Suddenly lightning, moderate to severe turbulence, heavy rain. Altitude ballooned to 37500 ft tried to recover when downdraft took us to 36000 ft. Advised ZMP deviated north. After recovery made PIREP and confirmed with ZMP (134.80) no conflict had occurred.
