Narrative:

I was inbound to sql from coyote hills with ATIS and had reported to the tower. Another aircraft had reported from coyote hills about 2 mins before me -- no visual contact established. Tower requested I report the cement plant. Another aircraft had reported cement plant 2 mins before me (same as coyote hills?). There were 4 aircraft in pattern ahead of me. Tower requested last aircraft do s-turns for spacing. I slowed down prior to cement plant, then reported cement plant (+/-1100 ft). The bonanza came from behind, flew directly overhead and turned right towards nbr. I asked the tower if I should follow the bonanza which had overtaken me. Tower replied no, enter right base for runway 30, #4 cleared to land. No TA's were called for bonanza, no evasive action taken.
