Narrative:
On an IFR climb to 2000 ft, heading 060 degrees, while coupled to the flight director, the altitude preset and altitude capture malfunctioned. The aircraft climbed to approximately 2300 ft MSL before the climb was arrested and the aircraft was descended to 2000 ft MSL assigned.

Title: SK76 HELI ON IFR CLB OVERSHOT ASSIGNED ALT BY 300 FT.
Narrative: ON AN IFR CLB TO 2000 FT, HDG 060 DEGS, WHILE COUPLED TO THE FLT DIRECTOR, THE ALT PRESET AND ALT CAPTURE MALFUNCTIONED. THE ACFT CLIMBED TO APPROX 2300 FT MSL BEFORE THE CLB WAS ARRESTED AND THE ACFT WAS DSNDED TO 2000 FT MSL ASSIGNED.
