Narrative:
Z time -- XX00Z frequency/altitude, 132.97/FL330. ATC facility: ZFW. Location: zemma intersection. En route to mci, we were given a frequency change to 132.97 ZFW. We checked on in the climb and were cleared to FL330. We asked about the rides but received no acknowledgement. About a min later we called center again and were answered with 'go ahead.' we again asked for ride reports at FL330, but got no answer. We assumed he was busy and inquired no further. Several mins later, we heard, 'air carrier xx, air carrier xx, ZFW.' we answered and he asked where we had been, that he had been trying to contact us for 5 mins, that they needed to move us for traffic. He also said that they had tried to get other flts to contact us. We heard no such xmissions and in fact, in retrospect realize that it had been quiet on the frequency. We changed to communication #2 for remainder of the flight -- no further problems. Communication #1 was changed in mci. Supplemental information from acn 370940: after the incident, we were able to receive normally on VHF #1 all other frequencys we tried.

Title: AN S80 FLC FLYING IN ZFW AIRSPACE LOSES RADIO CONTACT FOR 5 MINS JUST WHEN THE ARTCC NEEDS TO COMMUNICATE WITH THEM. RADIO RESUMES WORKING AS THE FLT PROGRESSES.
Narrative: Z TIME -- XX00Z FREQ/ALT, 132.97/FL330. ATC FACILITY: ZFW. LOCATION: ZEMMA INTXN. ENRTE TO MCI, WE WERE GIVEN A FREQ CHANGE TO 132.97 ZFW. WE CHKED ON IN THE CLB AND WERE CLRED TO FL330. WE ASKED ABOUT THE RIDES BUT RECEIVED NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. ABOUT A MIN LATER WE CALLED CTR AGAIN AND WERE ANSWERED WITH 'GO AHEAD.' WE AGAIN ASKED FOR RIDE RPTS AT FL330, BUT GOT NO ANSWER. WE ASSUMED HE WAS BUSY AND INQUIRED NO FURTHER. SEVERAL MINS LATER, WE HEARD, 'ACR XX, ACR XX, ZFW.' WE ANSWERED AND HE ASKED WHERE WE HAD BEEN, THAT HE HAD BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT US FOR 5 MINS, THAT THEY NEEDED TO MOVE US FOR TFC. HE ALSO SAID THAT THEY HAD TRIED TO GET OTHER FLTS TO CONTACT US. WE HEARD NO SUCH XMISSIONS AND IN FACT, IN RETROSPECT REALIZE THAT IT HAD BEEN QUIET ON THE FREQ. WE CHANGED TO COM #2 FOR REMAINDER OF THE FLT -- NO FURTHER PROBS. COM #1 WAS CHANGED IN MCI. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 370940: AFTER THE INCIDENT, WE WERE ABLE TO RECEIVE NORMALLY ON VHF #1 ALL OTHER FREQS WE TRIED.
