Narrative:
Aircraft on ground detected fire loop. Pulled fire handle, light did not extinguish. Discharged second bottle, did not extinguish. Evacuate/evacuationed aircraft, notified ATC. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that the aircraft was an ATR42. Postflt inspection failed to reveal any signs of a fire. It was presumed that the incident was a false warning. The forward passenger door aircraft stairs were used in the evacuate/evacuation.

Title: ACR ACFT EVACED WHEN FLC IS UNABLE TO EXTINGUISH AN APPARENT ENG FIRE WARNING SIGNAL. CREW FIRED 2 BOTTLES WITH NO EFFECT. POSSIBLE FALSE WARNING.
Narrative: ACFT ON GND DETECTED FIRE LOOP. PULLED FIRE HANDLE, LIGHT DID NOT EXTINGUISH. DISCHARGED SECOND BOTTLE, DID NOT EXTINGUISH. EVACED ACFT, NOTIFIED ATC. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THAT THE ACFT WAS AN ATR42. POSTFLT INSPECTION FAILED TO REVEAL ANY SIGNS OF A FIRE. IT WAS PRESUMED THAT THE INCIDENT WAS A FALSE WARNING. THE FORWARD PAX DOOR ACFT STAIRS WERE USED IN THE EVAC.
