Narrative:
We taxied out to runway 9L on the #2 engine only. We were approximately #15 for takeoff. We had run late all day and were in a rush to catch up and run on time for the rest of the day. We waited in line for at least 40 mins prior to takeoff. As we entered the runway the #1 engine was still not running. We were departing behind an MD11. While pulling into position we had a bleed overheat on the #2 engine as we were starting the #1 engine. The bleed overheat condition corrected itself. At this point the before takeoff and takeoff checklist were completed. The takeoff continued normally at this point. We should have noticed the #1 engine was not running before we entered the runway. We did not have to delay the departure due to this situation. This was more an embarrassing situation than an operational inconvenience.

Title: MDT FLC DEV FROM COMPANY PROCS. ACFT ENTERED RWY FOR TKOF WITH #1 ENG STILL SHUT DOWN. CREW HAD FAILED TO RUN THEIR CHKLISTS SOON ENOUGH AFTER WAITING FOR 40 MINS FOR TKOF. SAID THEY WERE BEHIND SCHEDULE.

WE WAITED IN LINE FOR AT LEAST 40 MINS PRIOR TO TKOF. AS WE ENTERED THE RWY THE #1 ENG WAS STILL NOT RUNNING. WE WERE DEPARTING BEHIND AN MD11. WHILE PULLING INTO POS WE HAD A BLEED OVERHEAT ON THE #2 ENG AS WE WERE STARTING THE #1 ENG. THE BLEED OVERHEAT CONDITION CORRECTED ITSELF. AT THIS POINT THE BEFORE TKOF AND TKOF CHKLIST WERE COMPLETED. THE TKOF CONTINUED NORMALLY AT THIS POINT. WE SHOULD HAVE NOTICED THE #1 ENG WAS NOT RUNNING BEFORE WE ENTERED THE RWY. WE DID NOT HAVE TO DELAY THE DEP DUE TO THIS SIT. THIS WAS MORE AN EMBARRASSING SIT THAN AN OPERATIONAL INCONVENIENCE.
