Narrative:
We were on a visual approach to runway 16R at vny and on socal approach. Earlier I used the #2 communication to tell the FBO we would be there soon, while continuing to monitor socal approach. The approach frequency was very busy and I did not hear them tell me to go to vny tower. Finally I decided to switch to tower myself and I believe just as I changed frequencys I heard vny tower say 'call sign cleared to land.' I repeated 'call sign cleared to land' and we landed on runway 16R. As we left the runway and I loaded ground frequency on standby, I realized my microphone selector was still on #2 communication which meant vny tower did not hear my radio transmission 'call sign cleared to land.' as I left the runway I called tower and they told me taxi instructions to the FBO and did not mention anything about not hearing me acknowledge the landing clearance. In the future I will always verify the communication switches are set correctly.

Title: A CPR FLC IN AN N265 ACKNOWLEDGES THEIR CLRNC TO LAND ON THE WRONG RADIO. NO CONFLICT.
Narrative: WE WERE ON A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 16R AT VNY AND ON SOCAL APCH. EARLIER I USED THE #2 COM TO TELL THE FBO WE WOULD BE THERE SOON, WHILE CONTINUING TO MONITOR SOCAL APCH. THE APCH FREQ WAS VERY BUSY AND I DID NOT HEAR THEM TELL ME TO GO TO VNY TWR. FINALLY I DECIDED TO SWITCH TO TWR MYSELF AND I BELIEVE JUST AS I CHANGED FREQS I HEARD VNY TWR SAY 'CALL SIGN CLRED TO LAND.' I REPEATED 'CALL SIGN CLRED TO LAND' AND WE LANDED ON RWY 16R. AS WE LEFT THE RWY AND I LOADED GND FREQ ON STANDBY, I REALIZED MY MIKE SELECTOR WAS STILL ON #2 COM WHICH MEANT VNY TWR DID NOT HEAR MY RADIO XMISSION 'CALL SIGN CLRED TO LAND.' AS I LEFT THE RWY I CALLED TWR AND THEY TOLD ME TAXI INSTRUCTIONS TO THE FBO AND DID NOT MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT NOT HEARING ME ACKNOWLEDGE THE LNDG CLRNC. IN THE FUTURE I WILL ALWAYS VERIFY THE COM SWITCHES ARE SET CORRECTLY.
