Narrative:
Climbing through FL340 the cabin altitude horn sounded. Our cabin altitude indicated 10000 ft. The cabin continued to climb at 500-700 FPM. After receiving an ATC clearance, we initiated an emergency descent. ATC was unable to clear us immediately to 10000 ft, so we declared an emergency. The cabin reached a maximum of 13500 ft during the descent. The flight diverted to bwi.

Narrative: CLBING THROUGH FL340 THE CABIN ALT HORN SOUNDED. OUR CABIN ALT INDICATED 10000 FT. THE CABIN CONTINUED TO CLB AT 500-700 FPM. AFTER RECEIVING AN ATC CLRNC, WE INITIATED AN EMER DSCNT. ATC WAS UNABLE TO CLR US IMMEDIATELY TO 10000 FT, SO WE DECLARED AN EMER. THE CABIN REACHED A MAX OF 13500 FT DURING THE DSCNT. THE FLT DIVERTED TO BWI.
