Narrative:
On a flight from bed to pne we were cleared over manta intersection V276 ard VOR direct pne. Near manta intersection we were given several radar vectors for spacing/traffic. Eventually we were given a heading to intercept V276 to ard VOR direct pne. We tuned in ard VOR and set in the 289 degree radial to ard and flew the given heading for the intercept. In a few mins the controller called and told us we were north of course by 8 mi. We rechked our navigation setup and realized we should have been tuned to the 302 degree radial of rbv VOR, which is between manta intersection and ard VOR. I would like to see more positive cooperation between controllers and pilots. The controller could have given us a call when we were 2 or 3 mi off course and gotten us back on track before being past the limits of the airway. It would make for a less stressful day for all of us. It appears that more and more, in some sectors of the united states, there is a lack of cooperation between controllers and pilots. On the positive side I find that the boston controllers are very helpful and cooperative. I would like to see some of that nation-wide.

Title: ARTCC ADVISED THE FLC OF A BRITISH AEROSPACE, HS25, THAT THEY WERE OFF COURSE APPROX 8 MI AND VECTORED THEM BACK TO THE INTENDED AIRWAY RTE. FLC FOUND THAT THEY HAD USED THE WRONG VOR FOR ROUTING GUIDANCE.
Narrative: ON A FLT FROM BED TO PNE WE WERE CLRED OVER MANTA INTXN V276 ARD VOR DIRECT PNE. NEAR MANTA INTXN WE WERE GIVEN SEVERAL RADAR VECTORS FOR SPACING/TFC. EVENTUALLY WE WERE GIVEN A HDG TO INTERCEPT V276 TO ARD VOR DIRECT PNE. WE TUNED IN ARD VOR AND SET IN THE 289 DEG RADIAL TO ARD AND FLEW THE GIVEN HDG FOR THE INTERCEPT. IN A FEW MINS THE CTLR CALLED AND TOLD US WE WERE N OF COURSE BY 8 MI. WE RECHKED OUR NAV SETUP AND REALIZED WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN TUNED TO THE 302 DEG RADIAL OF RBV VOR, WHICH IS BTWN MANTA INTXN AND ARD VOR.
