Narrative:
I filed a DVFR flight plan, and entered the assigned transponder code. Upon reaching my destination, I reset my transponder to what I believed was our assigned company transponder code. This discreet code is memorized by our company pilots, but I believe that my inexperience in the gulf of mexico, and with my employer, lead me to forget the appropriate code. I was alerted to this error by a military F16 aircraft on my left side, but still not knowing the appropriate code, I proceeded to my final destination onshore, sabine pass, tx.
