Narrative:
Given 20 mi southeast byi at FL270 while on bearr.BEARR2 arrival. Started descent early to easily make restr. While descending I went off to retrieve ATIS. After return from ATIS noted we crossed restr at FL280 descending. No query by center. My commentary: this restr should be noted on the STAR, especially since this is given every time or so it appears. My first officer mentioned that although he acknowledged the clearance he fixated on the FMS and actually shallowed the descent to make FL270 at the next point on the FMS.
