Narrative:

Upon lift-off from runway 28R at pit I received aural warnings indicating low oil pressure on #1 engine. These warnings were confirmed by a low pressure indication on oil pressure gauge. I elected to return for landing. After entering a right downwind for runway 28R the warnings stopped, however we did all applicable checklists and returned to the gate. After inspection of the engine, 5 quarts of oil were added. The flight was then re-dispatched to ewr.
