Narrative:

Last flight of a long day. It was approximately XA00. The flight was a short one, buf-roc, approximately 50 mi. Our flight plan called for a cruise altitude of 7000 ft. We received clearance over the ACARS (pdcs) and it showed our flight plan altitude of 7000 ft but cleared us to climb to and maintain 10000 ft. I figured they had given us 10000 ft to allow us to go faster than 250 KTS so I did not verify it with clearance delivery. The captain and I did discuss it, however, and both agreed as to the meaning. On climb out, leveling off at 10000 ft, departure control asked why we were at 10000 ft when we were cleared to 7000 ft. He asked what our clearance said and I read it to him off of the ACARS. He said there was no problem and apparently no conflicts and he would check with the ground controller (clearance delivery). We changed frequency shortly thereafter and I never found out the problem. I believe the ground controller (clearance delivery) entered the wrong altitude into the system. I recognized it but did not realize it was a mistake. I should have checked before leaving the gate.

Title: FLC OF B737-200 CLBS TO ALT ON PDC AMENDMENT WHICH WAS DIFFERENT THAN EXPECTED BY DEP CTLR.

Narrative: LAST FLT OF A LONG DAY. IT WAS APPROX XA00. THE FLT WAS A SHORT ONE, BUF-ROC, APPROX 50 MI. OUR FLT PLAN CALLED FOR A CRUISE ALT OF 7000 FT. WE RECEIVED CLRNC OVER THE ACARS (PDCS) AND IT SHOWED OUR FLT PLAN ALT OF 7000 FT BUT CLRED US TO CLB TO AND MAINTAIN 10000 FT. I FIGURED THEY HAD GIVEN US 10000 FT TO ALLOW US TO GO FASTER THAN 250 KTS SO I DID NOT VERIFY IT WITH CLRNC DELIVERY. THE CAPT AND I DID DISCUSS IT, HOWEVER, AND BOTH AGREED AS TO THE MEANING. ON CLBOUT, LEVELING OFF AT 10000 FT, DEP CTL ASKED WHY WE WERE AT 10000 FT WHEN WE WERE CLRED TO 7000 FT. HE ASKED WHAT OUR CLRNC SAID AND I READ IT TO HIM OFF OF THE ACARS. HE SAID THERE WAS NO PROB AND APPARENTLY NO CONFLICTS AND HE WOULD CHK WITH THE GND CTLR (CLRNC DELIVERY). WE CHANGED FREQ SHORTLY THEREAFTER AND I NEVER FOUND OUT THE PROB. I BELIEVE THE GND CTLR (CLRNC DELIVERY) ENTERED THE WRONG ALT INTO THE SYS. I RECOGNIZED IT BUT DID NOT REALIZE IT WAS A MISTAKE. I SHOULD HAVE CHKED BEFORE LEAVING THE GATE.
