Narrative:
Ramp service reported a damaged panel. Panel was a decompression panel with an 8 inch tear, penetrating honeycomb. Installation of repair, self stick 'speed patches' was accomplished. 2 repair patches were needed and were installed butted together. There was supposed to be a minimum 1 inch overlap. Last min repair, misread manual.

Title: AN AIRBUS 320 WAS DISPATCHED WITH AN INCORRECT REPAIR ACCOMPLISHED TO A CARGO COMPARTMENT DECOMPRESSION PANEL.
Narrative: RAMP SVC RPTED A DAMAGED PANEL. PANEL WAS A DECOMPRESSION PANEL WITH AN 8 INCH TEAR, PENETRATING HONEYCOMB. INSTALLATION OF REPAIR, SELF STICK 'SPD PATCHES' WAS ACCOMPLISHED. 2 REPAIR PATCHES WERE NEEDED AND WERE INSTALLED BUTTED TOGETHER. THERE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A MINIMUM 1 INCH OVERLAP.
