Narrative:
Flight was iad direct swf (newburg, ny). Originally cleared as filed with route being iad...mrb.V501.hgr.V377 har.V31.seg.V106.lhy.V408.V483.filps.swf. Prior to crossing har, we requested after har direct lvz direct huo direct swf. Several mins later we were told we were cleared har direct lvz direct huo direct swf. After crossing lvz, the controller inquired as to where we were going. We told him we were cleared after lvz direct huo. He said no one had informed him of that and gave us a heading to re- intercept V408 as originally cleared while he checked to see who cleared us like that. He came back and said no one said they had given us that routing. Either there was miscom among controllers or between flight crew and controllers.

Title: FLC OF AN LTT TURBOPROP BELIEVED THAT THEY HAD BEEN GIVEN THEIR REQUEST FOR A DIRECT ROUTING TO THEIR ORIGINAL FLT PLAN DURING CRUISE AND COMMENCED ON THE DIRECT RTE CHANGE. ATC INTERVENED AND ADVISED THAT THEY HAD NOT BEEN GIVEN AN AMENDED RTE AND VECTORED THEM BACK TO THEIR ORIGINAL FLT PLAN ROUTING.
Narrative: FLT WAS IAD DIRECT SWF (NEWBURG, NY). ORIGINALLY CLRED AS FILED WITH RTE BEING IAD...MRB.V501.HGR.V377 HAR.V31.SEG.V106.LHY.V408.V483.FILPS.SWF. PRIOR TO XING HAR, WE REQUESTED AFTER HAR DIRECT LVZ DIRECT HUO DIRECT SWF. SEVERAL MINS LATER WE WERE TOLD WE WERE CLRED HAR DIRECT LVZ DIRECT HUO DIRECT SWF. AFTER XING LVZ, THE CTLR INQUIRED AS TO WHERE WE WERE GOING. WE TOLD HIM WE WERE CLRED AFTER LVZ DIRECT HUO. HE SAID NO ONE HAD INFORMED HIM OF THAT AND GAVE US A HEADING TO RE- INTERCEPT V408 AS ORIGINALLY CLRED WHILE HE CHKED TO SEE WHO CLRED US LIKE THAT. HE CAME BACK AND SAID NO ONE SAID THEY HAD GIVEN US THAT ROUTING. EITHER THERE WAS MISCOM AMONG CTLRS OR BTWN FLC AND CTLRS.
