Narrative:

Reporter was flying aircraft #1, approaching from the southwest for a downwind runway 24 at brookside (turf runway). After aircraft #1 makes initial CTAF call-up, aircraft #2 reports being midfield downwind for runway 24. Aircraft #1 turns downwind behind aircraft #2, approximately 3/4 mi in trail. Reporter elects to extend the downwind leg for spacing since a back-taxi is required to reach the only taxiway (mid field on runway 24) in case of an overshoot. On the last 1/3 of runway 24, a right turn can be made onto runway 36, an asphalt runway. As aircraft #1 turns to base leg from an extended downwind, this reporter sees aircraft #2 touching down, and asks aircraft #2 if he is making a full stop or a touch-and-go. Aircraft #2 states that he is making a full stop, but will make a right turn onto runway 36. This reporter sees aircraft #2 stop right by the approach end of runway 36 and begin an uncertain pedal turn onto runway 36. Aircraft #1 elects to continue the approach, confident that aircraft #2 will be well clear onto runway 36 by the time aircraft #1 touches down. This was not the case. Aircraft #1 touches down, stops, and turns off on the mid field taxiway with aircraft #2 still on the runway (runway 24) trying to get onto runway 36. This reporter elected to stop instead of going around because he was vastly more confident in his brakes than his engine. This reporter was at flare ht by the time he noticed aircraft #2 still on the runway. This reporter later learned that the PIC of aircraft #2 was a solo student, from an irate instructor. This reporter failed to effect a timely go around and/or extend his pattern for spacing based on the word of an unknown pilot. No failures noted for the PIC of aircraft #2.

Title: SKYWATCH PLT OF A C172 LANDED ON RWY OF AN UNCTLED ARPT WHEN ANOTHER C172 WAS STILL ON THE RWY. THE C172 ON THE RWY WAS PLTED BY A STUDENT WHO WAS ATTEMPTING TO FIND THE EXIT TO THE RWY.

Narrative: RPTR WAS FLYING ACFT #1, APCHING FROM THE SW FOR A DOWNWIND RWY 24 AT BROOKSIDE (TURF RWY). AFTER ACFT #1 MAKES INITIAL CTAF CALL-UP, ACFT #2 RPTS BEING MIDFIELD DOWNWIND FOR RWY 24. ACFT #1 TURNS DOWNWIND BEHIND ACFT #2, APPROX 3/4 MI IN TRAIL. RPTR ELECTS TO EXTEND THE DOWNWIND LEG FOR SPACING SINCE A BACK-TAXI IS REQUIRED TO REACH THE ONLY TXWY (MID FIELD ON RWY 24) IN CASE OF AN OVERSHOOT. ON THE LAST 1/3 OF RWY 24, A R TURN CAN BE MADE ONTO RWY 36, AN ASPHALT RWY. AS ACFT #1 TURNS TO BASE LEG FROM AN EXTENDED DOWNWIND, THIS RPTR SEES ACFT #2 TOUCHING DOWN, AND ASKS ACFT #2 IF HE IS MAKING A FULL STOP OR A TOUCH-AND-GO. ACFT #2 STATES THAT HE IS MAKING A FULL STOP, BUT WILL MAKE A R TURN ONTO RWY 36. THIS RPTR SEES ACFT #2 STOP RIGHT BY THE APCH END OF RWY 36 AND BEGIN AN UNCERTAIN PEDAL TURN ONTO RWY 36. ACFT #1 ELECTS TO CONTINUE THE APCH, CONFIDENT THAT ACFT #2 WILL BE WELL CLR ONTO RWY 36 BY THE TIME ACFT #1 TOUCHES DOWN. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. ACFT #1 TOUCHES DOWN, STOPS, AND TURNS OFF ON THE MID FIELD TXWY WITH ACFT #2 STILL ON THE RWY (RWY 24) TRYING TO GET ONTO RWY 36. THIS RPTR ELECTED TO STOP INSTEAD OF GOING AROUND BECAUSE HE WAS VASTLY MORE CONFIDENT IN HIS BRAKES THAN HIS ENG. THIS RPTR WAS AT FLARE HT BY THE TIME HE NOTICED ACFT #2 STILL ON THE RWY. THIS RPTR LATER LEARNED THAT THE PIC OF ACFT #2 WAS A SOLO STUDENT, FROM AN IRATE INSTRUCTOR. THIS RPTR FAILED TO EFFECT A TIMELY GAR AND/OR EXTEND HIS PATTERN FOR SPACING BASED ON THE WORD OF AN UNKNOWN PLT. NO FAILURES NOTED FOR THE PIC OF ACFT #2.
