Narrative:

Although there were no indications in the cockpit at the time, the #3 main tire blew out on takeoff at stl. Rdu approach control relayed a message from stl that we might have blown a tire. Our first indication of a problem was when we extended the gear for landing at rdu. The right main gear green light was out and the red gear unsafe light was on. The cabin attendants were briefed on the situation and they prepared the passenger for the landing. The down lock check from the cabin was inconclusive. Several fly-by's were made followed by an uneventful landing with the emergency crews standing by. Gear pins were installed on the runway and then we were towed to the gate.
