Narrative:

My student accomplished pre landing checklist. On landing, nosewheel cover struck runway light (1), I took control of airplane and stopped short of intersecting runway, a B737 was crossing the intersection at this time. We were cleared to land on runway 8 and hold short of runway 15. My student read back the landing instructions and aircraft was held short of runway 15. Tower advised that landing light was out. I believe I should not have let the student land the airplane since the landing light was inoperative, after contacting the runway light. There was some time spent to recover the aircraft back to the centerline of runway. Subsequently all the allowable runway was used to stop the airplane.

Narrative: MY STUDENT ACCOMPLISHED PRE LNDG CHKLIST. ON LNDG, NOSEWHEEL COVER STRUCK RWY LIGHT (1), I TOOK CTL OF AIRPLANE AND STOPPED SHORT OF INTERSECTING RWY, A B737 WAS XING THE INTXN AT THIS TIME. WE WERE CLRED TO LAND ON RWY 8 AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 15. MY STUDENT READ BACK THE LNDG INSTRUCTIONS AND ACFT WAS HELD SHORT OF RWY 15. TWR ADVISED THAT LNDG LIGHT WAS OUT. I BELIEVE I SHOULD NOT HAVE LET THE STUDENT LAND THE AIRPLANE SINCE THE LNDG LIGHT WAS INOP, AFTER CONTACTING THE RWY LIGHT. THERE WAS SOME TIME SPENT TO RECOVER THE ACFT BACK TO THE CTRLINE OF RWY. SUBSEQUENTLY ALL THE ALLOWABLE RWY WAS USED TO STOP THE AIRPLANE.
