Narrative:

On arthur kill one departure from ewr first officer was flying. After takeoff turn to 190 degrees and 2.3 mi ILS DME turn to 250 degrees was made and vectors were expected new york departure. Asked why we had not intercepted the 100 degree sbj radial and gave us a heading to intercept. Neither captain or first officer had noticed the note for sbj 100 degree radial intercept. Arthur kill one is a new procedure and is marked as vectors at the top.

Title: B727 DEPARTING EWR ON THE ARTHUR KILL ONE SID FAILED TO INTERCEPT THE SBJ 100 DEG RADIAL. ATC CAUGHT THE ERROR AND GAVE AN INTERCEPT HEADING. CREW HAD NOT NOTICED THE NOTE WHEN STUDYING THE SID.
