Narrative:
Took off from simsbury, ct (4b9) without squawk code. I was flying under the outer ring of bradley charlie airspace over hilly terrain and very bumpy. Looked at chart for a second to check my location and I hit a rising column of air which put me into 'C' airspace -- I immediately lost altitude and exited the area. I should have gotten a 'VFR' squawk code from the bradley facility.
