Narrative:
The reason for me to fly in this area was to spot fish for a group of fishing boats. The boats had called me to spot fish for them and I did not realize at that time I had crossed the ADIZ. I found out that I had done so when united states customs had contacted while on my course for compton airport. I was contacted by united states customs 'big foot' on 121.500 who told me that I had crossed the ADIZ. I reported back to them 'I am a fish spotter on my way home to compton airport' and said 'I didn't realize I had crossed the ADIZ.' then united states customs big foot notified me they had scrambled 2 fighter jets to follow me to compton airport, ca. If I knew that I was going to cross the ADIZ, I would have contacted the appropriate agency to obtain a transponder code.
