Narrative:
Inbound to lax prior to civet we were tracking the lax VOR radial. At civet we failed to switch to the ILS course and looking at the profile it's not clear whether to track the localizer or VOR. If you read the arrival section it does specify the localizer course at civet. Supplemental information from acn 377749: at civet we failed to switch to lax localizer. While intercepting the localizer socal approach told us we were north of course. We calculated we were approximately 1 mi north of course at the time. Socal stated there was no problem on a subsequent phone call. The arrival note on the civet arrival page specifies the localizer. The difference between the two can have you tracking north of the localizer course. When all else fails read the instructions.
