Narrative:
Aug/xa/97 we had a northstar M3 GPS installed in our C414. Through a series of miscoms and our unfamiliarity with FAA regulations regarding avionics installations, the aircraft was flown several times without block #3 on form 337 being signed by the FAA. We have now been informed that this may have caused the aircraft to be illegal.
