Narrative:
About 7 mi south of airport yow approach cleared us for visual to runway 32, maintain 2000 ft until turning final. Turned about a 3 mi final to avoid cloud deck and to keep runway in sight. After landing, tower queried if cleared to FAF before turning final. We answered, no. Commercial chart 10-4 noise abatement procedure says to intercept final at or outside the FAF. We needed to turn inside greely, by about 1 mi, in order to maintain VFR on visual approach and to lessen the intercept angle. Is this in violation of far and/or the noise abatement procedure? Tower said, no problem. Supplemental information from acn 378830: should we have gone around and taken the ILS or continue with the visual knowing that we were going to be a little inside the FAF?

Title: F100 CREW PERFORMS A TURN ON TO FINAL FOR A VISUAL TO YOW, ON. THE TURN IS LOWER IN ALT THAN GIVEN BY APCH FOR NOISE ABATEMENT PURPOSES. IT IS ALSO INSIDE THE LOM. THE PROC CALLS FOR ACFT TO MAKE THEIR VISUAL APCH OVER THE LOM.
