Narrative:
On an IFR flight from eok-mek, I was working on a VOR problem and did not notice the altitude hold turn off and lost 700 ft from 7000 ft to 6300 ft before a call from approach called my attention to it. I then climbed back to 7000 ft and locked in the altitude hold.
