Narrative:
Aircraft was too fast on approach. Initiated go around and retracted gear rather than flaps while airplane was still on the ground. This occurred after long cross country flight. Short runway and first flight in type for several weeks.

Title: YAK52 PVT PLT PULLS THE GEAR UP ON AN ATTEMPTED GAR WHEN HE IS TOO FAST FOR THE SHORT RWY AT N07, NJ. RPTR IMPLIES A LACK OF FAMILIARITY WITH ACFT AND POSSIBLE FATIGUE.
Narrative: ACFT WAS TOO FAST ON APCH. INITIATED GAR AND RETRACTED GEAR RATHER THAN FLAPS WHILE AIRPLANE WAS STILL ON THE GND. THIS OCCURRED AFTER LONG XCOUNTRY FLT. SHORT RWY AND FIRST FLT IN TYPE FOR SEVERAL WKS.
