Narrative:
Flight departed ont en route rno at PM05. Cleared on the pomona 6 SID to climb and maintain 14000 ft, observing crossing restrs. On departure, I was climbing the aircraft on a profile to 'make' the depicted crossing rests, namely pom VOR at or below 8000 ft MSL and bucck intersection at or below 14000 ft MSL, and doing so to avoid a leveloff. Crossing pom at 8000 ft I continued the climb to make my next restr which was bucck intersection at or above 14000 ft. Socal departure control called and asked if we had complied with the 8000 ft restr at pom VOR. I told him that our gauges showed us crossing pom right at 8000 ft. The controller advised us that we had looked a little high at pom and suggested that we might allow another 1/2 mi in the future explaining that that airspace was very important to ZLA. I thanked the gentleman for the information which we would make note of and continued our departure. No other aircraft present.

Title: PIC OF DEP ACR MLG DISCLAIMS ANY ALTDEV AS INSINUATED BY SOCAL CTLR. CTLR CLAIMS THAT FLC WAS 'A LITTLE HIGH' IN XING POM VOR ON THEIR SID DEP PROC.
Narrative: FLT DEPARTED ONT ENRTE RNO AT PM05. CLRED ON THE POMONA 6 SID TO CLB AND MAINTAIN 14000 FT, OBSERVING XING RESTRS. ON DEP, I WAS CLBING THE ACFT ON A PROFILE TO 'MAKE' THE DEPICTED XING RESTS, NAMELY POM VOR AT OR BELOW 8000 FT MSL AND BUCCK INTXN AT OR BELOW 14000 FT MSL, AND DOING SO TO AVOID A LEVELOFF. XING POM AT 8000 FT I CONTINUED THE CLB TO MAKE MY NEXT RESTR WHICH WAS BUCCK INTXN AT OR ABOVE 14000 FT. SOCAL DEP CTL CALLED AND ASKED IF WE HAD COMPLIED WITH THE 8000 FT RESTR AT POM VOR. I TOLD HIM THAT OUR GAUGES SHOWED US XING POM RIGHT AT 8000 FT. THE CTLR ADVISED US THAT WE HAD LOOKED A LITTLE HIGH AT POM AND SUGGESTED THAT WE MIGHT ALLOW ANOTHER 1/2 MI IN THE FUTURE EXPLAINING THAT THAT AIRSPACE WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO ZLA. I THANKED THE GENTLEMAN FOR THE INFO WHICH WE WOULD MAKE NOTE OF AND CONTINUED OUR DEP. NO OTHER ACFT PRESENT.
