Narrative:
Flight xx air carrier X sea-den on sep/xa/97. After takeoff, had problem with #3 engine running hot. While analyzing this problem, inadvertently turned early at engine out procedure DME (4.3 mi) versus summa 5 departure clearance DME of 8.0 mi. I talked to seatac supervisor who advised me that this change in departure did not result in loss of any traffic separation.

Title: FLC OF A WDB TURNED EARLY DURING THE INITIAL CLB ON A SID DEP. CAPT NOTICED A HOT RUNNING ENG AND HAD FO TURN EARLY IN CASE A RETURN LAND WOULD HAVE BEEN NEEDED. HOWEVER, FURTHER THROTTLE ADJUSTMENT ELIMINATED THE PROB.
