Narrative:
At cruise, FL350 from cvg to slc, ZKC gave us a vector 20 degrees right off course. After about 5 mins off track, we noticed a TCASII target at 10 mi, 11:30 O'clock, FL350 and closing toward our position. We then received a TA followed by a TCASII RA to climb in excess of 2000 FPM. I had already started a turn to the right away from the closing aircraft and then I followed the TCASII RA command to climb. My first officer told ZKC we were in a TCASII RA climb approaching FL355. We could see on TCASII and hear that another air carrier was descending by command of their TCASII RA to FL330. ZKC told us to continue our climb to FL370. We believe the other air carrier had been held to FL350 during a climb from FL330 to FL370. We believe the 2 aircraft closed to less than 5 mi and at that distance altitude separation was about 1500 ft. After flying at FL370 for a few mins we received clearance back on course and a descent to FL350. We heard the other air carrier's pilot angrily ask the ZKC controller how close they had come to us, but the controller did not give an answer to that question.

Title: AN ACR B767 FLC RPTS THAT THEY HAD LTSS FROM ANOTHER ACR WHEN THEY WERE VECTORED OFF COURSE AT FL350. BOTH FLC REACTED PROPERLY TO TCASII RA'S.
Narrative: AT CRUISE, FL350 FROM CVG TO SLC, ZKC GAVE US A VECTOR 20 DEGS R OFF COURSE. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINS OFF TRACK, WE NOTICED A TCASII TARGET AT 10 MI, 11:30 O'CLOCK, FL350 AND CLOSING TOWARD OUR POS. WE THEN RECEIVED A TA FOLLOWED BY A TCASII RA TO CLB IN EXCESS OF 2000 FPM. I HAD ALREADY STARTED A TURN TO THE R AWAY FROM THE CLOSING ACFT AND THEN I FOLLOWED THE TCASII RA COMMAND TO CLB. MY FO TOLD ZKC WE WERE IN A TCASII RA CLB APCHING FL355. WE COULD SEE ON TCASII AND HEAR THAT ANOTHER ACR WAS DSNDING BY COMMAND OF THEIR TCASII RA TO FL330. ZKC TOLD US TO CONTINUE OUR CLB TO FL370. WE BELIEVE THE OTHER ACR HAD BEEN HELD TO FL350 DURING A CLB FROM FL330 TO FL370. WE BELIEVE THE 2 ACFT CLOSED TO LESS THAN 5 MI AND AT THAT DISTANCE ALT SEPARATION WAS ABOUT 1500 FT. AFTER FLYING AT FL370 FOR A FEW MINS WE RECEIVED CLRNC BACK ON COURSE AND A DSCNT TO FL350. WE HEARD THE OTHER ACR'S PLT ANGRILY ASK THE ZKC CTLR HOW CLOSE THEY HAD COME TO US, BUT THE CTLR DID NOT GIVE AN ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION.
