Narrative:
Approach and landing at bos runway 4R normal. Exited runway at taxiway Y, switched VHF radio to tower frequency 128.8. They cleared us to cross runway 4L and contact bos ground control on 121.9. Ground control cleared us to the gate via taxiway north, runway 15R to taxiway Z to taxiway a. We were on taxiway north when arriving at runway 15R. We made a left turn instead of a right turn (correct way) which took us away from the cleared taxi route. We crossed runway 4L, at which time ground control informed us that we had turned the wrong way on runway 15R, and to exit the runway at taxiway Q. We were then cleared to the gate by re-crossing runway 4L, left turn on taxiway K, right on taxiway C, left taxiway a to the gate. I do not believe that runway 4L was active at this time. Supplemental information from acn 379627: as we were right at the runway 15R/taxiway north intersection, it would have helped if the controller had indicated a direction to turn for taxiway Z.

Narrative: APCH AND LNDG AT BOS RWY 4R NORMAL. EXITED RWY AT TXWY Y, SWITCHED VHF RADIO TO TWR FREQ 128.8. THEY CLRED US TO CROSS RWY 4L AND CONTACT BOS GND CTL ON 121.9. GND CTL CLRED US TO THE GATE VIA TXWY N, RWY 15R TO TXWY Z TO TXWY A. WE WERE ON TXWY N WHEN ARRIVING AT RWY 15R. WE MADE A L TURN INSTEAD OF A R TURN (CORRECT WAY) WHICH TOOK US AWAY FROM THE CLRED TAXI RTE. WE CROSSED RWY 4L, AT WHICH TIME GND CTL INFORMED US THAT WE HAD TURNED THE WRONG WAY ON RWY 15R, AND TO EXIT THE RWY AT TXWY Q. WE WERE THEN CLRED TO THE GATE BY RE-XING RWY 4L, L TURN ON TXWY K, R ON TXWY C, L TXWY A TO THE GATE. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT RWY 4L WAS ACTIVE AT THIS TIME. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 379627: AS WE WERE RIGHT AT THE RWY 15R/TXWY N INTXN, IT WOULD HAVE HELPED IF THE CTLR HAD INDICATED A DIRECTION TO TURN FOR TXWY Z.
