Narrative:
On arrival onto dfw west of bowie we were asked to keep our speed up but still make the speed restr at bambie. Next we were vectored to intercept the arrival east of bowie. We leveled at 11000 ft but only slowed to 280 KTS instead of the 250 KTS for south arrival. We misread the chart. Arrival control asked us about our speed and our mistake was obvious.
