Narrative:

During climb out on the prado 5 SID, ont, ca, we heard ATC talking to 2 skydiving aircraft. When our flight turned the corner at sli VOR 080 degree radial and began flying toward trm VOR, ATC told us about 2 skydiving aircraft in our 11 O'clock position. The captain and I both saw the targets in our 11 O'clock position and 5 mi away. TCASII warned us about a single aircraft, obviously one of the targets we were looking at. I told the captain that the targets could be a problem since they had little apparent motion in our windscreen. The captain told me that we would climb above them. We were at 12500 ft MSL climbing at 300 KTS. Our assigned altitude was 14000 ft. As we closed the distance to the skydiving aircraft it was clear to me that we were going to have a close encounter. The TCASII gave us instructions to descend to avoid the first aircraft. The captain complied instantly. The TCASII then told us to climb to avoid the second aircraft. The captain complied again. I saw a casa type aircraft receding on our left side. The velocity difference was tremendous. The TCASII informed us we were clear of the conflict. We were passing 13000 ft MSL. I gave the required '1000 ft to go ' call. The captain was still looking out the left window at the receding skydiving aircraft and did not respond. Our vertical speed was greater than 3000 FPM. I told the captain to watch the altitude. The autoplt didn't capture the altitude (14000 ft MSL) and we overshot by 800 ft. We didn't violate any other aircraft's airspace and descended back to 14000 ft MSL. The captain should have requested a vector or leveloff when we first had visual contact with the 2 aircraft.

Title: B737-200 ACFT ON SID CLB WAS ALERTED BY CTLR OF SKYDIVING ACFT. RPTR FLC SAW ACFT AND TOOK EVASIVE ACTION AS A RESULT OF TCASII RA. ACFT FLEW ABOVE ASSIGNED ALT WHEN CAPT, PF, WAS WATCHING INTRUDER.

Narrative: DURING CLB OUT ON THE PRADO 5 SID, ONT, CA, WE HEARD ATC TALKING TO 2 SKYDIVING ACFT. WHEN OUR FLT TURNED THE CORNER AT SLI VOR 080 DEG RADIAL AND BEGAN FLYING TOWARD TRM VOR, ATC TOLD US ABOUT 2 SKYDIVING ACFT IN OUR 11 O'CLOCK POS. THE CAPT AND I BOTH SAW THE TARGETS IN OUR 11 O'CLOCK POS AND 5 MI AWAY. TCASII WARNED US ABOUT A SINGLE ACFT, OBVIOUSLY ONE OF THE TARGETS WE WERE LOOKING AT. I TOLD THE CAPT THAT THE TARGETS COULD BE A PROB SINCE THEY HAD LITTLE APPARENT MOTION IN OUR WINDSCREEN. THE CAPT TOLD ME THAT WE WOULD CLB ABOVE THEM. WE WERE AT 12500 FT MSL CLBING AT 300 KTS. OUR ASSIGNED ALT WAS 14000 FT. AS WE CLOSED THE DISTANCE TO THE SKYDIVING ACFT IT WAS CLR TO ME THAT WE WERE GOING TO HAVE A CLOSE ENCOUNTER. THE TCASII GAVE US INSTRUCTIONS TO DSND TO AVOID THE FIRST ACFT. THE CAPT COMPLIED INSTANTLY. THE TCASII THEN TOLD US TO CLB TO AVOID THE SECOND ACFT. THE CAPT COMPLIED AGAIN. I SAW A CASA TYPE ACFT RECEDING ON OUR L SIDE. THE VELOCITY DIFFERENCE WAS TREMENDOUS. THE TCASII INFORMED US WE WERE CLR OF THE CONFLICT. WE WERE PASSING 13000 FT MSL. I GAVE THE REQUIRED '1000 FT TO GO ' CALL. THE CAPT WAS STILL LOOKING OUT THE L WINDOW AT THE RECEDING SKYDIVING ACFT AND DID NOT RESPOND. OUR VERT SPD WAS GREATER THAN 3000 FPM. I TOLD THE CAPT TO WATCH THE ALT. THE AUTOPLT DIDN'T CAPTURE THE ALT (14000 FT MSL) AND WE OVERSHOT BY 800 FT. WE DIDN'T VIOLATE ANY OTHER ACFT'S AIRSPACE AND DSNDED BACK TO 14000 FT MSL. THE CAPT SHOULD HAVE REQUESTED A VECTOR OR LEVELOFF WHEN WE FIRST HAD VISUAL CONTACT WITH THE 2 ACFT.
